Eggs on the left are from my pairing (yes they have a little red hue) and the eggs on the right are from Black Copper Marans CHICKS I purchased from another breeder. I will say, those chicks (now grown) are closer to SOP than anything I have seen from a hatchery bird so it all depends on your goals. Just some food for thought.

The French Black Copper Marans originated in France. In breeding circles it is understood that once the breed arrives to the US and starts being bred the "French" in their name should be dropped. Whatever your preference in the name, the chocolate egg is what most people really care about. The Blue Copper Marans are derived from breeding blue x blue and black to to blue.

The Brahma is a gentile giant known for being a winter layer when all other breeds stop laying. They do take longer to mature and need more space per bird then smaller breeds.

Hatched in March 2023. He has never shown aggression towards me or my children. Do keep in mind he is a brahma and on the larger side when compared to other roo's. I have never kept him with smaller varieties like falverolle's so not sure how he would do.
